ROLE:

From styling and shooting product to organising the latest SOTT drop, I am responsible for our entire online catalogue. You will find me rummaging through our store and studio to find pieces for our latest edits.

BACKGROUND:

I studied Economics at the University of Sheffield after realising finance wasn't for me, I decided to utilise my spreadsheet skills elsewhere. My real interest for sustainable fashion and a circular fashion economy came from wanting clothes that no one else had! There is nothing like a luxury find for a fraction of the price. Since then, I knew that I wanted to focus my career away from the fast fashion norm.

ROLE:

A list lover and problem solver, I oversee everything across the business. You’ll often find me in the office at SOTT so come and say hi.

BACKGROUND:

I studied Economics at Bath and founded the business the year after I graduated, after being inspired by a small store at the bottom of my road at University and some fantastic training from Lorraine at SOTT.

WHAT'S YOUR FAVOURITE SEASON?

I love Summer & Autumn. Summer for the beautiful cotton dresses and bohemian sandals. Then Autumn so I can wear all my favourite Winter clothes without actually needing something practical enough to keep me warm!

ROLE:

I'm responsible for inputting and describing the clothing, shoes and accessories our consigners wish to sell with us. I also help ensure the office/studio has all resources needed for carrying out day-to-day activities and provide IT support to colleagues when needed.

BACKGROUND:

I graduated with a degree in IT but have always displayed a keen interest in fashion. I'm a big advocate of supporting sustainability in the fashion realm and working at Sign of the Times allows me to do this.

WHICH ITEM OF CLOTHING ARE YOU ADDICTED TO BUYING?

I can never have too many pairs of patterned socks in my wardrobe. The bolder, the better!

ROLE:

I’m involved with everything that has to do with photography at SOTT. I mostly work from the studio with clothing and accessory photography for the website, but I’m also involved in some of the content photography for the website and social. I always try to come up with new ideas to improve our photography so that our photos reflect the high quality of the items we sell.

BACKGROUND:

I’m from Sweden and moved to the UK when I was 19 years old. I lived in Edinburgh for four years where I studied photography at university and freelanced as a portrait photographer on the side of my studies. I’ve been passionate about photography since I was a child, but at university I realized that fashion photography especially is what I want to do, which is how I found my way to Sign of The Times.

WHAT'S YOUR GO TO PIECE?

A good blazer, I have way too many of them and I’ve found most of them second hand (You always find the best blazers second hand, never buy them new). I feel like my outfits aren’t entirely complete without a matching blazer.

ROLE:

Having originally started in 2000, I have been store manager for 13 years. My job is to ensure that our customers are treated with the greatest respect, offering them the highest level of customer service possible. I have an exceptional work ethic and wealth of knowledge of the luxury retail sector which I work to instil in my team. To be honest though I really like nothing better than mucking in with the rest of the team.

BACKGROUND:

I am proud to be born and bred in London. Having left school at 15 (born in August!) to pursue a career in luxury retail, I soon discovered my absolute love of fashion. This is still as strong to this day. I love my job! It makes me so happy to know that I know exactly what our clientele wants. Tailor making their outfits from head to toe with the greatest enthusiasm.

BIGGEST FASHION FAUX PAS?

Buying an emerald green net top and legging outfit from Topshop with my first pay check. I looked like a cross between a fairy and a leprechaun. I never shopped there again!

ROLE:

I oversee our multi-channel marketing strategy across everything from digital to in-person. My goal is to find and keep the best customers to sell and shop luxury fashion.

BACKGROUND:

I was born and raised in California, but always knew I was meant to be in London. After living here for almost two years I love it (even if the weather’s better in sunny California!). I’ve been selling and buying fashion since resale marketplaces appeared in the states and I spent two years working at The RealReal in the US. I am very passionate about resale — it will revolutionise the fashion industry!

FAVOURITE SECONDHAND STEALS?

My Celine sunnies (current season!) for £180 and a pair of Chanel flats for £150. Both timeless, investment pieces!

ROLE:

I'm the central cog in the SIGN machine working from both our Chelsea store and Battersea Studio overseeing everything with a keen and critical eye. Ensuring to achieve and maintain the highest sell-through-rate of the brand all over the year, from driving in product and analyzing every process that this involves. Handling regular meetings with all the major stakeholders in the business and having a clear path of progression within the company.

BACKGROUND:

An Italian lady with the crazy idea to move to London back in 2014 by herself, after finishing her studies. I always worked in the fashion industry as a tailor, and sale associate for premium Brands and later on moved to the operations side as I find it quite exciting to be the troubleshooter of the situation and work out new projects and events! Always had an entrepreneurial spirit in me, since when I was a kid.

WHAT IS NOT MISSING IN YOUR WARDROBE?

Easy answer, definitely shoes... I've always had an obsession when it comes to shoes.

ROLE:

I am the first operations assistant at our Chelsea store. I am responsible for all the online orders, ensuring our customers receive them well-packaged and on time for their fashionable adventures. Also, on the daily basis, I deal with client requests, ensuring stock is running smoothly through the store and Battersea studio. I am the go-to person for managerial requests, this includes any preparations for photoshoots and promotions taking place in-store and online. I really enjoy this role as it has brought out my business mindset and it is evolving every day so no day is ever the same.

BACKGROUND:

I graduated with a degree in Fashion Textile Print from University for the Creative Arts. I had the amazing opportunity to be part of and showcase my graduate collection at Northern Fashion Week in Manchester back in June 2022. I have always had a huge passion for luxury fashion, such a dream world with its craftsmanship and uniqueness. I love the excitement of sourcing for an outfit, dressing up, and feeling the rush of glamour and confidence from fashion. With a keen eye for detail, a fast approach, and problem-solving, my role at SOTT has suited me perfectly.

WHAT WOULD BE MY EVERYDAY GO TO STYLE?

I love putting together stylish yet smart outfits but for my everyday style… it would be wide-leg jeans, oversized cotton shirt and white trainers. Oh and paired with gold hoop earrings and tote bag!

ROLE:

I am an investor and sit on the board of directors. My focus is mainly on the big stuff – I keep us honest to our goals and vision. My secret confession, is that I have once or twice, secretly sneaked onto the shop floor over the years as love serving and getting to know our amazing clients. I have experienced first hand how tough it is to be a female founder and entrepreneur so now go out of my way to help other founders find their feet, I find it really rewarding. At SOTT we are perfectly placed as a team of kick ass females to grow and realise our long term goal of reinventing resale.

BACKGROUND:

I love what I do and lucky enough to have worked with some of the best and brightest brains on the planet, advising disruptive, tech fuelled start-ups and high-growth organisations as they grow and scale. I am a founder, an advisor, board member, investor, mentor and entrepreneur. I founded JD & Co, one of the leading headhunting firms for high growth scaleups in the UK. My investments are driven by a strong sense of purpose. As relates to the world of fashion; I love fashion but hate fast fashion and I wanted to get more involved in being the change I want to see.

BIGGEST PRE-OWNED FASHION WIN?

I discovered The Vampire’s Wife label in 2015, bought one stunning bright red velvet dress, I still have it today and always makes me feel amazing when I wear it. I then tried to get the same dress in green but it had sold out everywhere, fast forward three years and what is hanging in my favourite shop in Chelsea (you know the one on Elystan St) – that is what I love, circular fashion in all its ‘thrill of the chase’ moments.

ROLE:

Picking up the weekend end of things, from site visual merchandising, product photography and describing, to picking those lovely items our fashionable customers have order for shipment.

As a natural born shopaholic the only natural career path to pursue was in fashion. From studying design and textiles at university I have navigated my through many roles within the industry, fuelling my obsession with beautiful things at all times.

WHAT'S YOUR FASHION CONFESSION?

Buying the same thing all the time, my closet reads denim, denim with some more denim sprinkled on top!

Since I was a little child, I have been interested in fashion, which as I got older has developed into a passion for sustainable fashion. BACKGROUND:

I’m a Chelsea native and I have worked at Sign Of The Times since November 2019. Prior to joining the SOTT team I was a hairdresser, and before that I completed a textiles and embroidery internship. As a hairdresser I always loved being able to make people feel confident and beautiful, and I’m so glad I still get to do that every day at SOTT. I’m very positive and outgoing, and my favourite part of working at SOTT is all of the wonderful people I get to meet and dress on a daily basis!

On Sundays, I can be found on communications responding to any queries that our clients may have.

BACKGROUND:

A recent graduate from a Fashion Buying and Merchandising course, fashion has always be a great love and interest of mine. Studying on my course alongside working in fast fashion helped me realised I’m not a huge fan of the ethical and morals that go into the fast fashion side of the industry. With my role I am able to contribute my small part to sustainability whilst still getting to see the amazing pieces and trends happening in the fashion industry.

WHAT'S YOUR EVERYDAY GO TO STYLE?

Oversized. I would wear everything baggy and oversized everyday if possible. I love oversized tops, hoodies, sweatpants. Honestly the bigger the better, it’s just more comfortable that way.

FASHION GUILTY PLEASURE?

I'm a born and bred thrifter and love nothing better than hunting down a designer treasure in my much loved local charity shops in Brighton.
